Continuous processing of drying and regeneration using the compressed waste heat from the air compressor. Atlas Copco's oil-free MD dryer minimizes power consumption.
Moisture in compressed air is absorbed by a drum impregnated with an adsorbent, and the waste heat generated during the compression process is used for continuous regeneration of the drum. The MD dryer for dry and clean oil-free compressed air is an energy-efficient waste heat regenerative rotary drum dryer. With its high-efficiency design, it ensures reliable operation and provides the required quality of air. ■Features ○ Energy-saving and low cost - Required power is less than 0.2 kW Utilizes compressed waste heat, minimizing the necessary electrical power - Zero air loss Air used for regeneration is also merged, resulting in zero loss ○ Environmental considerations - CFC-free No refrigerant is used as there is no refrigeration unit - Noise reduction The structure generates no noise due to the absence of switching operations or venting - Dedicated to oil-free Z compressors Exclusively for the Z series, which provides 100% oil-free air ○ Functional design - Rational and functional design Compact design consolidates within a single pressure vessel, saving space - Air that does not condense throughout the year During winter, the dew point improves further, preventing condensation.

basic information
■Atlas Copco: Air Dryer MD Dryer Compressed air passes through 3/4 of a drum with a honeycomb structure impregnated with adsorbent for drying, while the remaining 1/4 is for regeneration. High-temperature compressed air is used for regeneration. With these advantages, it keeps pressure drop and energy consumption very low compared to other types of dryers.

Detailed information
-
Dehumidification and regeneration Three-quarters of the cross-sectional area of the drying rotor, which is impregnated with adsorbent, is passed through by compressed air for dehumidification. The rotor rotates, and the heat from the compressor is directed to the remaining quarter of the cross-sectional area, where the moisture adsorbed during the dehumidification process is evaporated by heat, completing the regeneration.
