Study on the decomposition using nitric acid-hydrochloric acid (aqua regia) in the analysis of impurities in iron and steel.
[Free Technical Data Available] Successfully automated tasks that were previously done manually! No need for reagent preparation, achieving improved work efficiency!
This technical document discusses the automatic pretreatment using nitric acid-hydrochloric acid (water) for the analysis of impurities contained in iron and steel, utilizing the automatic pretreatment device "DEENA" for reagent addition and acid decomposition. Steel becomes more rigid when it contains boron and other impurities; however, if there are too many impurities, it becomes brittle. Therefore, managing the impurity content is extremely important in the production of high-quality steel. The analysis method commonly used is nitric acid-hydrochloric acid (aqua regia) decomposition, but it is labor-intensive and time-consuming, and it generates a significant amount of harmful acid decomposition gases, making it difficult to safely and quickly process multiple samples. Thus, we examined the automatic pretreatment using nitric acid-hydrochloric acid (water) for the analysis of impurities in iron and steel, employing "DEENA," which can perform tasks such as acid addition, stirring, and dilution under PC control in a fully automated manner.
