An approach to resilient structures! Proposals from SE for earthquake and tsunami countermeasures.
In this document, SE is proposing the reinforcement of breakwaters using ground anchors as a measure against earthquakes and tsunamis in its environmental disaster prevention projects. The Great East Japan Earthquake that occurred on March 11, 2011, caused significant damage due to tsunamis. Coastal structures of breakwaters that did not anticipate external forces from tsunamis experienced major deformations such as toppling and washing away. On the other hand, breakwaters that demonstrated resilience, even when deformed by wave forces, contributed significantly to disaster reduction by delaying the arrival time of tsunamis to urban areas. Based on these experiences, breakwaters are required to have resilient structures, and our breakwater reinforcement anchor method is introduced as a reference technology in the "Guidelines for Tsunami Resistance Design of Breakwaters." basic information
【Wave Breaker Reinforcement Anchor Method】 ■ This method introduces SEEE ground anchors with a nut fixation system to wave breakers, improving the stability of the structure against sliding, tipping, and foundation support through its tension force. ■ It requires minimal large-scale temporary works or underwater operations, and the small area needed for construction allows for reduced construction time and costs. ■ Existing structures can be utilized as they are, with no reduction in water area. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

In 1967, SE Corporation introduced the SEEE method domestically from the French company S.E.E.E. (now ingérop) and was established. Forty years have passed since our founding, and along with the times, not only have our technologies and methods changed rapidly and significantly, but the business environment surrounding us has also transformed. However, our fundamental stance of "aiming for a rich social environment and harmony with nature while continuously providing new value" remains our unwavering foundation. Moving forward, we will actively contribute to society by providing world-class technology and systems to revitalize the development of social infrastructure, which is the foundation for protecting people's lives and property, and we will continue to challenge ourselves as a united group aiming to become a "global engineering manufacturer."
