The FBG sensor measurement unit from Redondo Optics is a product that incorporates a built-in signal light source using a hybrid waveguide platform without mechanical moving parts. Since it does not require an external power supply (USB powered), it can be easily combined with tablets or small laptops, allowing for the construction of portable fiber sensor equipment for measuring strain, temperature, and vibration that can be used in the field. It excels in applications where multi-point sensors are unnecessary, evaluations before building large-scale sensing systems, and applications that prioritize mobility and portability. We offer seven types based on the number of sensor channels (1 to 12), sampling frequency (2k to 500kHz), and external dimensions (18.5mm square x 50mm, 50.8mm square x 101.6mm, etc.). The signal light source is a C-band (1.55μm band) SLD, and we use an FBG made of SMF (single-mode fiber) as the sensor. The standard interface with external devices is USB, with options for Ethernet and wireless connectivity.
