The Post-Head-bar method involves drilling holes in the surface of existing structures using a PHb drill, filling those holes with a special mortar, and then inserting a post-installed plate-type shear reinforcement bar called "Post-Head-bar" to integrate it with the reinforced structure, thereby improving the shear capacity of the member. 【Scope of Application】 ○ Main reinforcement purpose: Improvement of shear strength during level 2 earthquakes ○ Diameter of post head bars: D13, D16, D19, D22, D25, D29, D32 ○ Material of post head bars: SD345, SD390 (not compatible with SD295A/B) ○ Main target structures and components: - Walls of underground structures whose response during an earthquake is governed by the behavior of the surrounding ground - Columns with walls, base slabs, top slabs, and associated beams ○ Structures and components applicable after verifying deformation performance: - Base slabs and rising walls of weirs, sluice gates, etc. - Abutments with the back side on the ground - Bridge piers in environments or locations where seismic reinforcement using steel plate wrapping or RC wrapping methods is difficult - Structures above ground that continuously rise from underground, etc. ○ Structures and components not applicable: - Structures/components that need to allow significant deformation during an earthquake ● For more details, please contact us or download the catalog.

The Post Head Bar Method Research Association was established in 2007 and has since been applied to 1,147 construction projects by member companies, with nearly 2 million post head bars installed. The post head bar is an efficient shear reinforcement technology that can be applied not only to underground concrete structures such as wastewater treatment and water purification facilities, railway, road, and waterway tunnels, but also to above-ground structures such as weirs and sluices, and bridge abutments. Moving forward, we will continue to strive for improvements in the efficient construction methods of this technique, actively propose it as a promising means of seismic reinforcement anticipated in the future, and work towards the dissemination of this method.
