A monitoring technology that evaluates stability by monitoring the behavior of cutting edges and structures using multiple laser rangefinders and conducting multi-point simultaneous measurements at intervals of at least one second.
Traditionally, in monitoring the behavior of the entire face in mountain tunnels, a method was used where a single automatic tracking total station measured the displacements of multiple points sequentially. However, the multi-point simultaneous displacement measurement system continuously measures the displacements of multiple points simultaneously using multiple laser distance meters. The data from the continuous multi-point simultaneous measurements by the laser distance meters is transferred to a measurement computer via wireless communication, allowing for real-time data processing to calculate physical quantities such as displacement and displacement velocity. If the calculated physical quantities (displacement, displacement velocity) exceed the pre-set management criteria, it is possible to immediately notify and alert workers operating near the face through warning sounds or warning lights, thereby improving safety during face operations and similar tasks.

basic information
Typically, in displacement measurement using automatic tracking total stations, it takes 5 to 10 seconds to measure one point. Therefore, when monitoring three measurement points, there is a measurement gap of 15 to 30 seconds at each point, which poses a challenge in continuously and spatially monitoring ground behavior, such as at tunnel faces. Additionally, at tunnel faces, displacements can suddenly increase from a state of no displacement to collapse, making it difficult for conventional technology to detect such behavior. In contrast, a continuous multi-point simultaneous displacement measurement system using laser distance meters can measure multiple points simultaneously with a minimum interval of 1 second using up to eight laser distance meters, allowing for spatial measurement. The displacement accuracy can be continuously measured at ±1mm, enabling real-time measurement of sudden increases in partial or overall displacement and collapse behavior. The measurement data is wirelessly transmitted, and through remote control from a computer, the measured data is automatically imported into the computer. The imported measurement data can be output as an external file in CSV format, making it usable for graphing and in applications such as Excel, Word, and others.
