This is a low-frequency sound level meter that allows for real-time analysis of 1/3 octave bands while measuring G-weighted sound pressure levels. The G-weighted frequency response characteristics and the 1/3 octave band filters comply with both domestic and international standards. The main unit is calibrated with a preamplifier-integrated 1-inch ceramic microphone UC-24. It is equipped with an LCD display, operational key switches, AC output terminals, serial communication terminals, and an infrared communication window.

The G characteristic frequency correction circuit, RMS detection circuit, and 1/3 octave band filter utilize digital computation by DSP, improving reliability. AC output for data recorders (1-500Hz) and AC output for level recorders (selectable from low-frequency sound pressure level <1-100Hz>, G characteristic sound pressure level, or 1/3 octave band level). With serial communication functionality, data can be easily imported to a computer, allowing for data editing with commercially available spreadsheet software.

The evaluation characteristics of psychological and physiological effects caused by ultra-low frequency sound were standardized as G characteristics in ISO 7196 in March 1995. Generally, it is said that when the sound pressure level of G characteristics exceeds approximately 90 dB, low-frequency sounds are perceived, and at even higher levels, physiological effects (such as sleep disturbances, shortness of breath, and blood pressure changes) are reported.
