This is an introduction to a case where the automotive parts that typically used six insert nuts were replaced with the "high-strength" SSOO nuts from Daiichi Kogyo (high torque compatible insert nuts), resulting in a reduction of the number of components to four. Insert nuts for resin (plastic) have traditionally utilized knurled, square, and hexagonal shapes, which have raised concerns about the nuts deforming the resin and spinning freely (slipping or idling) when bolts are tightened with high torque.
