Mechanical structures such as automobiles, home appliances, and buildings are assembled by joining multiple parts together. Therefore, joining is common across all industries and is the most fundamental technology for maintaining performance and quality. Joining can be broadly classified into welding through the melting and solidification of metals, chemical adhesion, and mechanical fastening through screws. Each of these methods has many advantages and is an important joining technique, but the only method that allows for high strength and the possibility of disassembly and reuse is mechanical fastening with screws, which is also considered to play an important role in today's environmental issues. Screws are a representative mechanical component that was standardized by ISO early on as a key element of globalization and are widely distributed in the market; however, there are significant differences in safety, performance, and quality among manufacturers. Through diligent research activities to meet users' needs for screw fastening, we are committed to improving the safety, performance, and quality of screw products.

In various bolted joint structures in mechanical structures such as transportation machinery, the safety, performance, and quality required for fastening components vary, so we conduct research and development on strength, fastening (tightening and loosening), and design methods as part of "research on screw fastening performance."
