K&F Corporation and Isabou Net are jointly holding the "K&i Web Academy" (hereinafter referred to as the joint webinar) regularly to support everyone in obtaining CPDS and CPD credits. **Background of the Webinar Business** For civil engineering and construction contractors, it may be required to obtain credits for continuing education as part of the qualification application review for bidding by various regional development bureaus of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, as well as some prefectures and municipalities. In response to this situation, K&F Corporation has decided to promote the webinar business "KF College" to help those in the construction and civil engineering industry efficiently obtain credits through webinars. **Lecture Content** "Characteristics of Soil Engineering and Troublesome Issues Anticipated in Design and Construction" (Scheduled Time: 15:00–16:00, 60 minutes) In our disaster-prone country, soil engineering, particularly embankments, has led to large-scale ground disasters due to earthquakes and heavy rainfall, resulting in significant damage. In this lecture, we will explain why soil engineering is vulnerable to rain and earthquakes from a geotechnical perspective, as well as discuss countermeasures for special soils and soft ground, which are treated as troublesome soils in design and construction.
