We will achieve optical characteristics that have not been realized until now by periodically changing the refractive index. Conventional optical filters (optical thin films) consist of alternating layers of high refractive index films and low refractive index films, which exhibit specific optical properties. In contrast, notch filters (band-stop filters) are deposition products designed to periodically change the refractive index in the thickness direction. They are characterized by the absence of optical ripples outside the stopband. We can realize optical characteristics that have not been achievable with conventional optical thin film processing. (Do you have such challenges?) ■ Is it possible to reflect only around the wavelength of 532nm? ■ I would like the unnecessary parts to be unable to transmit optically. ■ Notch filter? At Isuzu Seiko Glass Co., we have developed filter glass substrates (IHU series) that have a transmission limit wavelength in the ultraviolet range and improved weather resistance to ultraviolet light. Recently, we have successfully deposited dielectric multilayer films to create bandpass filters in the ultraviolet range, as shown in the chart (measured data). Based on our achievements in visible light, we can achieve high transmission rates in the ultraviolet wavelength range by controlling the deposition process.
