Liberaware Inc. successfully conducted an investigation using "IBIS2" over approximately 600 meters of public sewer pipes in Kobe City. This case will be one of the sewer pipe investigation examples following the investigation in Kitakyushu City using "IBIS2" on May 30, 2025 (Friday). In Kobe City, sewer pipe investigations had previously been conducted using visual inspections and television cameras (self-propelled and floating types), but there were pipes that were difficult to investigate using conventional methods due to high water levels, sediment accumulation, and the presence of toxic gases such as hydrogen sulfide. Therefore, we decided to conduct the investigation using our aerial drones. *For more details on the news, please refer to the related link. Free membership registrationSankyu, a major plant maintenance company engaged in engineering, logistics, and operational support. Inspection work to identify defective areas in plant equipment primarily relies on visual inspections by personnel. While scaffolding is set up and inspections are conducted using aerial work platforms, the time and costs associated with these preparatory steps pose challenges. Additionally, defective areas in such equipment are often located in high, narrow, and dark places that are difficult for people to access, making the work challenging and dangerous. To address these issues, the company has introduced our inspection drone, 'IBIS.' It is utilized for inspections of production facilities in steel and petrochemical manufacturers, capturing images of equipment such as gas cleaning systems and exhaust ducts. Furthermore, these images are used to generate orthomosaics. *We have compiled a case study on the use of inspection drones at Sankyu Corporation in a document. Free membership registrationAt the Niigata factory of Hokuetsu Corporation, which produces various paper products, the process runs consistently from wood chips to pulp and then to paper products. About 70% of the electricity and steam energy in this factory is obtained by burning black liquor, which is generated during the process of producing pulp from wood chips, in a recovery boiler. Black liquor is a biomass energy derived from wood, contributing to carbon neutrality through thermal recycling, and the Niigata factory produces paper products with 70% CO2 zero energy. The company is experimentally introducing "IBIS" for inspecting the exhaust duct of the recovery boiler. 【Case Overview】 ■ Client: Hokuetsu Corporation ■ Product Introduced: IBIS ■ Challenge: Cost and time constraints of scaffolding installed on the outside of the exhaust duct ■ Implementation Effect: Achieved inspection of the interior of the exhaust duct that had not been possible before *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.
