About 70% of the electricity and steam energy in this factory is obtained by burning black liquor, which is generated during the process of producing pulp from wood chips, in a recovery boiler. Black liquor is a biomass energy derived from wood, contributing to carbon neutrality through thermal recycling, and the Niigata factory produces paper products with 70% CO2 zero energy.
