pH (hydrogen ion concentration) indicates the degree of acidity or alkalinity of water. It is expressed on a scale from 1 to 14, with 7 being neutral, values above 7 indicating alkalinity, and values below 7 indicating acidity. SS (suspended solids) refers to insoluble substances that are suspended in water. It is one of the indicators used to measure the degree of water pollution and includes organic matter derived from phytoplankton, their remains, domestic wastewater, and industrial effluents. The amount of SS significantly affects the turbidity and transparency of water. Factories that generate wastewater must comply with water quality standards set by the Ministry of the Environment and the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism for environmental conservation, and establish a monitoring system to avoid administrative guidance.
