The majority of CO2 emissions from construction companies' business activities are due to the use of electricity and fuel during the construction phase. As part of efforts toward decarbonization, reducing the fuel consumption of construction machinery, which accounts for about 80% of CO2 emissions during construction, is crucial. There is a need for efficient monitoring of CO2 emissions from construction machinery and support for fuel-efficient operation. 【Purpose / Benefits of Introduction】 ■ By adopting a method that indirectly calculates CO2 emissions based on the engine speed of construction machinery, it becomes possible to achieve real-time monitoring of CO2 emissions relatively inexpensively. ■ Real-time monitoring enables the reduction of prolonged idling and unnecessary high-speed operation, supporting fuel-efficient driving. ■ Since the operating hours of construction machinery are affected by weather conditions, using rain gauges and cameras in conjunction allows for a more accurate calculation of CO2 emissions.
