[Example of Surface Water Works] Sado Circular Route, Taka Tunnel at Hage

Introducing a case where the installation of gutters in areas without leaks was minimized, while clarifying the drainage route and achieving effective water diversion measures!

This is an example of a tunnel leakage prevention construction project using "surface drainage" at the Taka Tunnel in the Sado Loop Line, located in Sado City, Niigata Prefecture. There were numerous cracks over a wide area at the top of the tunnel, leading to leakage. On the other hand, there was a request not to install drainage pipes in areas without leakage other than the top, necessitating efficient drainage measures. By installing a funnel-shaped catch basin between the side drain and the arch drain line, we were able to prevent water from pooling in the side drain, thereby improving drainage performance and reducing maintenance burdens. 【Case Summary】 ■Challenges - Numerous cracks over a wide area at the top of the tunnel were causing leakage. - There was a request not to install drainage pipes in areas without leakage other than the top, requiring efficient drainage measures. ■Results - We were able to improve drainage performance and reduce maintenance burdens. *For more details, please download the PDF or feel free to contact us.

[Example of Face Water Control Work] Hisakurizaka Tunnel

Introduction of a case where the leakage of flow ends was resolved, preventing road surface freezing and leading to improved safety!

This is a case study of leak prevention work conducted at the Kurizaka Tunnel in Aomori City, Aomori Prefecture, using "surface drainage technology." Leakage from the spring line (SL) was causing the formation of ice pillars, which posed safety risks. Additionally, snow-melting pipes were installed on the sidewalk, making it difficult to manage water flow, necessitating effective countermeasures. To address the leakage from the SL, arch drain surface drainage was implemented, and side drains were installed for the drainage treatment of the water flow. The elimination of ice pillar formation meant that nighttime responses from management were no longer necessary, reducing the burden of maintenance. 【Case Overview】 ■Challenges - Leakage from the spring line (SL) was causing the formation of ice pillars, which hindered safety. - The presence of snow-melting pipes on the sidewalk made it difficult to manage water flow. ■Results - Nighttime responses from management were no longer necessary, reducing the burden of maintenance. - Leakage at the water flow was resolved, preventing road surface freezing and improving safety. *For more details, please download the PDF or feel free to contact us.

We would like to introduce a case of leak prevention work in the Tonen Tunnel located in Tsuruga City, Fukui Prefecture, carried out by "Men-dousui Engineering." Due to corrosion of the existing galvanized steel plates (SI boards), their removal led to water leakage from the walls, which could potentially affect the surrounding healthy SI boards, necessitating new leak prevention measures. An arch roofing was installed to match the thickness of the existing SI boards, and caulking was applied at the joints to ensure water diversion. This also improved the appearance. [Challenges] ■ The existing galvanized steel plates (SI boards) were corroded, leading to water leakage from the walls upon removal. ■ There was a possibility of affecting the surrounding healthy SI boards, requiring new leak prevention measures. *For more details, please download the PDF or feel free to contact us.

This is an introduction to a case of leak prevention work conducted by "Sen Dousuiko" at the Kageji Tunnel in Ono City, Fukui Prefecture. At the site, water leakage was occurring from the side of the existing steel plate (5mm thick). On the other hand, since the removal of the existing steel plate was not possible and the tunnel cross-section was small, there was a request to minimize protrusion from the wall, necessitating effective countermeasures. By installing seal drains, we were able to prevent water leakage, eliminating dripping onto the road. [Challenges] ■ Water leakage was occurring from the side of the existing steel plate (5mm thick) ■ Removal of the existing steel plate was not possible ■ Due to the small tunnel cross-section, there was a desire to minimize protrusion from the wall *For more details, please download the PDF or feel free to contact us.

Subsurface Drainage Pipe "Mitsuba Drain"

Achieving overwhelming drainage performance! It demonstrates its capabilities sufficiently over a long period even under harsh conditions!

The "Mitsuba Drain" is a drainage pipe with a structure suitable for circulating water and air in the soil. By making the collection openings continuous slits (linear) and increasing the collection area, it achieves overwhelming collection and drainage performance. It is less likely to become clogged with deposits such as water stains, and even if one drainage route is blocked, water can be diverted to other drainage routes. Additionally, when buried under railway tracks as a countermeasure against mud eruptions, it has excellent pressure resistance to withstand the repeated loads of trains. 【Features】 ■ Overwhelming collection and drainage performance ■ Does not clog ■ Resistant to root intrusion ■ Excellent pressure resistance ■ Suitable for improving soil environment *For more details, please refer to the related link page or feel free to contact us.

What is underground drainage?

Introducing high-performance and easy-to-install drainage pipes! Chosen by many companies and municipalities!

An "ankyu" refers to a waterway buried underground, and the method of improving drainage by flowing and draining infiltrated water from the surface into it is called "ankyu drainage." Historically, ankyu drainage using bamboo and sod bundles has been practiced, but currently, resin materials are mainstream, and various shapes of ankyu drainage pipes are available on the market. Our "Mitsuba Drain" is chosen by many companies and municipalities due to its high performance and ease of installation. [Shape Comparison (Partial)] ■ Mitsuba Drain - Multi-drainage channel in one cross-section - Honeycomb structure ■ Perforated Pipe - Single drainage channel in one cross-section - Circular pipe with small holes scattered throughout *For more details, please refer to the related links or feel free to contact us.
