This is a case study of water leakage countermeasures in the Shimohanbara Tunnel located in Ono City, Fukui Prefecture, implemented by "water guiding works." Due to the small cross-section of the tunnel, the existing water guiding pipes were frequently damaged by contact with large trucks, leading to water leakage issues. The section of the tunnel wall where the box trucks were making contact was chiseled away, and the existing pipes were replaced with embedded pipes using Arch Drain Cold-Resistant Transparent (AD030 Cold-Resistant Transparent).
