We carried out snow melting equipment construction for unmanned management facilities within Niigata Prefecture. The work targeted vehicle parking spaces, internal work pathways, and stair areas. Due to the difficulty of regular fuel supply at unmanned facilities, the construction involved the installation of snow melting mats with built-in electric heaters. The total output of the snow melting mats is 15.6 kW (single-phase 200V specification, with 100V specification in some locations). The on/off control is based on the amount of snowfall detected by a laser light sensor, activating when the outside temperature is below 2°C and the snowfall exceeds 5 cm, and deactivating when the snowfall decreases to below 3 cm. With a communication network connection, remote monitoring and control from outside are possible, and even if the sensor malfunctions, it can be forcibly activated or deactivated. During trial operation adjustments, we recorded the heating situation from above, and the overall heating condition was found to be good.

This time, we would like to introduce Niigata Sanrin in Tokamachi City. With the rebuilding of their office building, we implemented snow melting for the roof and pavement. Tokamachi City is one of the snowiest areas in the country, with a maximum snow depth of 210 cm in February. Sanrin is a fuel supply company, and tank trucks come and go at the fueling station multiple times a day. Since it would be impossible for employees to clear the snow every time, we installed pavement snow melting and roof snow melting for both the office building and the fueling station canopy, eliminating the need for manual snow removal. Sanrin sells both kerosene and propane gas, but this time we used a gas-fired boiler powered by propane gas, which has a relatively low environmental impact, for the hot water circulation system. Compared to the surrounding snow accumulation, both the roof and pavement are beautifully cleared of snow. We are here to assist with any snow-related issues for both new and existing homes.

Jōkamachi City is a town with a population of about 50,000, located near Nagano Prefecture, where the deepest snow accumulation in February is 210 cm (1991-2020). When trying to cope with this using electric heater-type snow melting, a large energy requirement of 300 to 350 W per square meter is needed. Therefore, even for a house of about 30 tsubo (approximately 100 square meters), a 30 kW class system is necessary, and in both heavy and light snowfall years, the basic fee will be a burden according to the equipment capacity. In contrast, a hot water circulation system using a boiler or similar as a heat source can freely adjust the output through temperature control, making it more cost-effective for fuel in light snowfall years, which is suitable for heavy snowfall areas. This time, since we are also renovating the roof, we concealed the snow melting panels beneath the metal sheeting. The roof surface warms uniformly, allowing the snow to melt evenly and cleanly. Mr. N himself is the president of a construction company and has been responsible for road snow removal in the area during the winter months, which has meant that the snow at his own home has always been put off until last. Nagaoka City is the second largest city in Niigata Prefecture, with a population of about 280,000. The maximum snow depth in February is 77 cm (from 1991 to 2020). Looking at the surrounding scenery, there is quite a significant amount of snowfall. Initially, we considered a hot water circulation system, but since the area of concern was only the north side and it was just a part of the roof, we opted for a lightweight electric heating net system. The electric heating net is suitable for preventing icicles, is lightweight, and can be retrofitted to existing buildings. Even in the thermal imaging footage, only the areas with the net are melting like a pond. We also combined it with an automatic snow detection sensor that operates during the night or when going out. "We are really glad that we no longer have to worry about icicles and snow causing trouble for our neighbors starting this year!" was the joyful feedback we received. We are truly happy that our customer has been freed from their snow-related troubles. Whether for new homes or existing ones, we are here to help with any snow-related issues.

"Apple and Okamachi" was built as a complex facility in Tokamachi City, Niigata Prefecture, one of Japan's premier heavy snowfall areas, where three generations—children, child-rearing families, and the elderly—can interact. The snowfall in Tokamachi City sometimes exceeds 2 meters, and in consideration of users, particularly the elderly and those with children, who require convenient transportation, we have installed a hot water circulation road heating system (snow melting on the road surface) from the main road to the piloti and in the parking spaces. In today's labor shortage, it is increasingly difficult to secure snow removal personnel during the winter months, even when job openings are posted. Many facility managers are likely struggling with this issue. We are here to provide consultation on snow-related problems, not only for newly constructed facilities but also for existing ones.

Yohira Onsen in Niigata Prefecture is a quiet hot spring area nestled in the mountains, surrounded by rich nature and streams, located southeast of Echigo Nagaoka. Affectionately known as the "hidden retreat of Nagaoka," it exudes a charming atmosphere with fresh greenery in summer, autumn leaves in fall, and snowy landscapes in winter. Izumiya has had snow melting equipment installed for some time, but at Yohira Onsen, which is close to the former Yamakoshi Village in Nagaoka City, there were some areas where the melting was not satisfactory. Therefore, we carried out roof metal sheeting replacement and renovations to the snow melting equipment alongside the exterior wall painting renovation. After changing the heat dissipation surface to original aluminum heat dissipation panels and thick copper pipes, we received feedback saying, "It melts significantly better than before, and fuel efficiency has also improved." Using an oil-fired boiler as the heat source and antifreeze as the circulating liquid, the hot water circulation type snow melting system melts snow over an area of approximately 600 square meters without water sprinkling.

Using an LPG gas boiler as the heat source and antifreeze as the circulating fluid, we are melting snow over an area of approximately 1,100 square meters with a hot water circulation type, non-spray snow melting system.
