Validated. Refrigerated transport bag for coronavirus vaccine. Keeps refrigerated (below 8°C) for 24 hours, frozen for 15 hours (below -15°C).
On March 12, 2021, at a municipal briefing held by the Health Bureau's Vaccination Division of the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, it was announced that the time for transporting COVID-19 vaccines from basic vaccination facilities to satellite and collaborative vaccination facilities has been extended to within 24 hours under frozen temperature conditions (-15 to -25°C), in addition to the existing refrigerated temperature range (2 to 8°C) within 3 hours.
Particularly in rural areas, it is anticipated that transportation times will exceed 3 hours, making the development of insulated bags capable of maintaining long-term frozen temperatures urgent.
This product allows for dual use of refrigerated and frozen transport simply by changing the cooling agents, maintaining refrigerated conditions (2 to 8°C) for 24 hours and frozen conditions (-15 to -25°C) for 15 hours in an external temperature environment of 35°C. By using this product for frozen transport and storing the vaccines in a frozen state at the vaccination facility, the shelf life of the vaccines can be extended from the conventional 5 days to a maximum of 14 days, thereby reducing the risk of valuable vaccine wastage.
It comes with a dedicated holder that can accommodate 50 vials, cushioning material to suppress internal transport vibrations, and specialized cooling agents. The exterior is made of waterproof plastic panels.
