In "public baths" used by a large number of unspecified people, water quality testing items and their frequency are established as indicators of hygiene management. Particularly, due to the high risk of bath water entering the mouth, appropriate hygiene management is required. Among the testing items, "Legionella bacteria," which can cause infectious diseases, is considered the most important. Additionally, regular cleaning and disinfection of the bathtub and plumbing alone make it difficult to determine whether hygienic management is being maintained, so confirmation through water quality testing is necessary. Given that many of the sources of the rapidly increasing cases of Legionnaires' disease in recent years are hot springs, public bathing facilities, and 24-hour baths, regular testing is recommended.
