[To those who think, "Ceramics are expensive!"] *Characteristics of two types of ceramic materials: Alumina - High mechanical strength with resistance to corrosion and wear, but more expensive than steatite (about 1.5 times). Steatite - Good insulation properties and inexpensive. Commonly used in electrical and heating components. [Common examples] If you manufacture a part that is sufficient for insulation purposes using steatite, it will naturally be cheaper than if made from alumina. If you manufacture a part using steatite for wear resistance just because it is inexpensive, it will wear out quickly, resulting in the need to produce more parts, which ultimately increases costs. *Choosing the right ceramic material according to the application is the key to purchasing at a lower cost.
