What is phosphorescence?
It absorbs light energy from sources like white fluorescent lights, white LED lights, and the sun, and emits light in dark places. In reality, it also emits light in bright areas, but it cannot be seen when the surrounding environment is bright.
Phosphorescence does not require a power source because it emits light on its own after storing light energy. The stored light is gradually released, but it can repeat the process of phosphorescence when exposed to light again. Historically, it was referred to as "luminous" for enabling visibility at night, such as on clock faces and instrument panels.
Although it is expensive due to its reliance on rare metals, it is effective as a marker in dark places since it does not require power or wiring, and there are no running costs or maintenance expenses.
