[Excerpt from the text] ...A pump is generally divided into the "motor part" and the "water passage part." If the motor part, which operates electrically, and the water passage were combined, it would lead to malfunctions. The two parts are connected by what is called a main shaft, essentially a "rotating rod." This is the rod that the motor spins around. It is also referred to as a shaft. At the end of this main shaft, there is an impeller attached, which circulates the water. Now, the issue arises with the connection between the "water passage part" and the "rotating rod." In the diagram, this is indicated by the pink area. There is a slight gap at the connection between the "water passage part" and the "rotating rod." If it were fixed, the rod would not be able to rotate. However, if there is a gap, water would naturally leak out. Therefore, it is necessary to fill this gap. This is where the mechanical seal comes into play! ...
