It was later proven to make a significant contribution to the protection of large gearboxes used for the pulverization mills of coal, which is the fuel for coal-fired power plants. Amid calls for the abolition of coal-fired power plants in pursuit of a decarbonized society, these plants continue to operate actively as electricity consumption expands worldwide. Naturally, unexpected system failures can lead to significant losses. The introduction of "Magnum" was motivated by reasons such as the ineffectiveness of conventional barrier-type filters, including: - Generation of pressure loss - High viscosity index of the lubricating oil used - Insufficient removal of tiny iron-based particles that can damage the system In any system, it is essential to quickly remove the increasing contamination to prevent a wear chain. If these ultra-hard fine particles cannot be sufficiently removed by the filter system, it may trigger a "chain reaction of wear." When discharging the cutting fluid, these fine particles are filtered out as sludge, but the finer the mesh, the more expensive the filter becomes. Coarser filters are relatively inexpensive, but if they cannot adequately filter the sludge, they can lead to failures in the main unit and affect the finishing accuracy of the products. Finer meshes are more prone to clogging with sludge, leading to increased frequency of replacement/cleaning, which in turn increases downtime (time stopped for maintenance) and decreases work efficiency. Additionally, the economic losses, along with the environmental burden from disposal, also increase. This solution addresses all these concerns at once.
