They were troubled by the high costs associated with disposing of the used filters. *The filter materials consist of three types: the filter medium is glass paper, the separator (to prevent the filter medium from adhering) is aluminum, and the frame is either wood or steel. The disposal costs are high because the waste disposal company needs to disassemble the filters by material type. If the customer attempts to disassemble them, it takes a considerable amount of time, especially since removing the separator is quite challenging.
