Improving the issue of difficulty seeing the board writing from a remote location due to reflections from fluorescent lights and the quality of the webcam! A case study of the digital whiteboard, Shirohankai.
We would like to introduce a case study of the implementation of "Shirabanka" at Fujitsu Software Technologies Limited.
【Challenges and Background Before Implementation】
The company places great emphasis on English education for its employees and conducts level-specific TOEIC preparation courses once a week for four hours.
Before the introduction of Shirabanka, they were broadcasting videos via Skype that captured both the whiteboard and the instructor. However, due to reflections from fluorescent lights and issues with video quality, it was difficult for participants to see the writing on the board. Therefore, they decided to implement Shirabanka, which allows for clear display of the whiteboard content on the PC screen.
As a result, the writing became clearly visible and easier to understand, leading to improved training effectiveness and an increase in participant scores compared to before implementation.
【Effects of Implementation】
■ The writing is clearly visible, making it easier to understand.
■ There is an atmosphere similar to in-person training even in online sessions.
■ Writing at the usual speed is properly displayed.
■ The usage is simple and the operation is easy.
■ Training effectiveness has improved, and participant scores have increased compared to before implementation.
