Affordable monitoring of earthquakes and long-period vibrations is possible! Let us introduce our development achievements!
We received a request from IMV, stating, "We want to create a seismometer that can acquire waveforms via Modbus," and developed the "Modbus Seismometer."
The goal was to offload heavy computational processing to a host computer and create a low-cost seismometer and long-period vibration meter. A system capable of monitoring earthquakes and long-period vibrations at a low cost, composed of RX21A, RS-485, Modbus, and FRAM, has been completed.
By using a built-in ΔΣADC, we achieved cost reduction. Despite being half-duplex communication (Modbus), it features the ability to transfer waveform data in real-time.
