[FA Site Improvement Case] Prevention of Defects in the Inspection Process

Quality improvement: Manage time in the inspection process to contribute to the reduction of defective products.

We will introduce a case study of improvements in the FA field proposed by Patlite. Inspections were conducted on the parts manufacturing line before shipment. Due to the rush of the operators during the inspection process, the inspections were neglected, leading to the outflow of defective products. To address this, we introduced the layered information display light "LA6." By using the smart mode "Time Trigger Type" as a timer, we managed the time for the inspection process, establishing a system to start the inspection of the next product after a set period. [Case Study] ■ Improvement Issue - We want to eliminate the shipment of defective products. ■ Proposal - By using the smart mode "Time Trigger Type," we utilize the display light as a timer. - Conduct inspections of one product during the timer display. - When the blue light is fully lit, the inspection is complete, and we proceed to the next product inspection. *For more details, please refer to the PDF materials or feel free to contact us. https://www.patlite.co.jp/ ↓↓↓ Official Online Shop ↓↓↓

[FA Site Improvement Case] I want to visualize the number of defective products during equipment downtime.

Improving Quality: Identifying the number of defective products through the visualization of casting equipment error time!

We will introduce a case study of improvements in FA (Factory Automation) sites proposed by Patlite. Due to errors in the casting equipment, the machine stopped, causing a drop in internal temperature and leading to defective products. However, there was a problem in that the downtime could not be grasped on-site, making it impossible to confirm the number of defective products. Therefore, the layered information display light "LA6" was introduced. Upon receiving a signal of an abnormal occurrence, the "LA6" displays the downtime as a timer. By increasing the red timer lights in stages from 1 to 5 every minute, it became possible to confirm the downtime from a distance by the number of lit segments. [Case Study] ■ Current Situation - The equipment that experienced an abnormal stop was timed by the person in charge to identify the number of defective products. - Downtime could not be grasped on-site, making it impossible to confirm the number of defective products. ■ Proposal - With the timer display function, the number of displays increases every minute from the occurrence of an abnormality, allowing the downtime to be confirmed from a distance by the number of lit segments. - Wiring is easy with just one additional wire along with the conventional signal light. - Display time, display color (21 colors), and patterns (15) can be changed using editing software. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us. https://www.patlite.co.jp/

[FA Site Improvement Case] I want to visualize the equipment cycle time.

Predictive maintenance: Visualizing the cycle time of each equipment as part of anomaly management.

We will introduce a case study of improvements in FA (Factory Automation) sites proposed by Patlite. In a manufacturing factory where the equipment status is displayed on an Andon board, there is a problem of not being able to manage the takt time, resulting in processing not being completed as scheduled. In response, we proposed the new information display light "LA6 type." This product receives input signals from the equipment and, when the set time is reached, it flashes blue, making it immediately clear which equipment has a problem. Additionally, it easily notifies the signs of equipment maintenance based on the frequency of takt time overruns. 【Case Study】 ■ Issues - Frequent occurrences of processing not being completed within the set time - Understanding the reasons for decreased equipment operating rates and implementing visualization improvements - While the equipment status is displayed on the Andon board, there are no functions for managing takt time - Significant costs are incurred for additional construction to take signals from each piece of equipment to the Andon board ■ Proposal - Receive input signals from the equipment and flash blue when the set time is reached - Takt time can be set arbitrarily using the LA6 editing application *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us. https://www.patlite.co.jp/
