(Patents obtained both domestically and internationally) <Features of Shoji-Lock Products> - When rotation is applied from the input side, the output side decelerates and transmits power, but rotation is not possible from the output side = self-locking function. This means that it can hold a load at the desired position without the need for a brake. - Compared to worm gear reducers with the same self-locking function, it is highly efficient. Additionally, while the worm has input and output axes that are orthogonal, our input and output shafts are aligned (in-line), making it considerably more compact, space-saving, and lightweight. - Unlike ratchets or one-way clutches, it can hold a load at any position where movement is stopped, regardless of the direction of rotation. It can also be restarted without releasing the brake (in either direction), offering simple operability. Furthermore, there is no ratchet noise, making it suitable for use in quiet environments. - It features a basic sealed structure (IP65) and is maintenance-free. - Each applied product is available in both manual-only and types that can be driven by commercially available electric tools (drill drivers).

Another feature is that, unlike conventional worm reducers with self-locking functions that require a considerable amount of space due to the input and output shafts being orthogonal, our design has the input and output shafts aligned (inline), allowing for a lightweight, smart, and compact design that can be easily integrated into various devices. The lineup can be selected based on output shaft torque and reduction ratio, with torque ratings available from 5 to 100 kgm (load × torque arm). Some products are also available in all stainless steel for cleanroom compatibility. The basic model is coated with black Teflon, which is resistant to rust. Additionally, it can operate and maintain load even without power during emergencies. It is being introduced as a mechanical component in various fields, including defense and military, plant-related applications, semiconductor manufacturing equipment, automotive assembly lines, and device lid opening and closing.
