Matex Co., Ltd. and Sumitomo Heavy Industries, Ltd. have jointly developed the "HECY Series" reduction gear using lightweight, high-strength resin materials. Utilizing the design technology for precision control reduction gears for industrial robots held by Sumitomo Heavy Industries and the production technology for reduction gears through resin molding possessed by Matex, we have achieved not only weight reduction but also high precision by using lightweight, high-strength resin materials, specifically super engineering plastics, for the main components. The parts made of resin are produced using injection molding machines, allowing the "HECY Series" reduction gear to be manufactured at a low cost. The "S-Reducer," which is being adopted across various industries due to its high efficiency and compact design compared to existing worm gear reducers, was developed in response to requests for an all-SUS (stainless steel) construction for use in clean rooms. Its greatest feature is the unique self-locking function (shoji-lock), which allows the load to be maintained even if the movement is stopped during the ascent, descent, rotation, or tilting of the device. This makes it ideal for situations where there is a need to hold or work at a stopped position. It has been introduced as a mechanical component in various applications, including semiconductor manufacturing equipment and medical devices. Another feature is that, unlike the aforementioned worm gear reducers, the input and output shafts are aligned in a straight line (inline), making it very compact and easy to integrate into devices.

Equipped with a self-developed load-holding (self-locking) deceleration function (shoji-lock), it can maintain load even if the movement is stopped during the ascent, rotation, or tilting of the device. This makes it suitable for requests such as wanting to conduct experiments or perform tasks at a stopped position. Additionally, it can operate and maintain load even without power during emergencies. It has been introduced as a mechanical component in various applications, including semiconductor manufacturing equipment, automotive assembly lines, and plant lid opening and closing. Another feature is that, unlike conventional worm gear reducers which require a considerable amount of space due to the perpendicular arrangement of the input and output shafts, our design has the input and output shafts aligned in a straight line (in-line). This allows for a lightweight, smart, and compact design, making it easier to integrate into various devices. The lineup can be selected based on output shaft torque and reduction ratio. For some products, all-stainless steel manufacturing is possible to accommodate cleanroom requirements.
