Hose Connection [Agriflyer by Ishikawa Energy Research]

Connect the tank pump to the drone via a hose. There are various uses for the agricultural drone "Agri Flyer," such as spraying pesticides and fertilizers for field vegetables.

In pesticide spraying drones, there was a challenge in finding alternative uses due to the tank capacity being around 10 liters. By connecting a hose to the drone this time, it became possible to not worry about the amount of spraying, leading to increased inquiries for applications such as fertilizer spraying for vegetables and cleaning solar panels. Additionally, since the spraying can be turned ON/OFF with a remote control, it allows for spraying only in necessary areas.

3D modeling of a dam using an underwater drone and PIX4Dmapper.

Traditionally, inspections of concrete dams and similar structures have primarily relied on visual inspections by divers. However, due to a shortage of personnel, there is a growing demand for labor-saving solutions utilizing robotic technology. Since 2016, Sekido has been selling underwater drones and ROVs, and not only do we sell them, but we also conduct demonstration experiments and customize them according to customer requests, enabling various operations using underwater drones and ROVs. This time, we successfully achieved 3D modeling by analyzing captured images (video) with "Pix4Dmapper." "PIX4Dmapper" is widely used software in the field of photogrammetry, and by enabling the creation of three-dimensional data from image information captured by ROVs, it can be applied to new areas such as inspections of underwater infrastructure and management of rivers and ports. *For more details, please refer to the related links on our blog. [Production Achievements] Large Drone

The ideal is an aircraft that can safely carry people! This is an example of my involvement in the development of a large drone approximately 4 meters in length.

We were involved in the development of a large drone approximately 4 meters in length. Our profession typically requires us to focus on "how realistic" we can make something, but this time, real functionality was also required. It was necessary to make it as light and strong as possible, with the weight that can be lifted by four propellers being determined, and by drilling many holes in the body, the surface area was significantly reduced. Moreover, it was requested that the thickness be finished at 0.8 mm, leading us to use EPS molds to shape carbon fiber. The challenge of how to increase strength using the hand lay-up method was solved by utilizing CNF. On August 5, 2019, at NEC's facility in Abiko, we successfully conducted a test flight in front of an audience of over 200 people, and we were able to devise a transportation plan for subsequent exhibitions.
