[Usage Example] One-Touch Connector
A case where the automation of connector attachment and detachment in the vehicle-mounted motor inspection process reduced the takt time by 90%!
At the inspection site of a vehicle motor manufacturer located in the Kanto region, round metal connectors from a domestic manufacturer are used in the motor inspection process. The method for attaching and detaching these metal connectors is a screw-in type, and the connectors were manually fitted in three places on a single jig. Additionally, to prevent the terminals from bending during diagonal insertion, the work had to be done carefully and took a considerable amount of time. Therefore, the introduction of Salton's "one-touch connector" was implemented. As a result, the tasks that were originally performed by multiple workers were completely automated, reducing the takt time by about 90%. With the reduced need for manpower in the inspection process, labor and time could now be redirected to other work processes. [Case Study] ■ Challenges - Manual work could no longer keep up with the electrification of vehicles. ■ Effects - 90% reduction in takt time. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.
