【Use Case】Consolidating power and sensing connectors for automation

The connectors for power and sensing have been consolidated, and the connection work has been automated, resulting in increased productivity!

In the charging and discharging inspection line, there were no composite connectors combining power and signal from domestic manufacturers, so we were connecting them separately by hand, which was labor-intensive. We were considering ways to improve this situation. Therefore, we introduced our composite connector that can integrate power and sensing into one. Additionally, by installing a rail and enabling sliding, we made it possible to automatically attach and detach everything together. As a result, it became unnecessary to assign workers to this process, leading to increased productivity. [Case Study] ■ Issue - Manual connection of power and sensing connectors separately ■ After Implementation - No need to assign workers, resulting in increased productivity *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

[Usage Example] Successfully achieved approximately 30% space savings.

We introduced a one-touch high-current connector, achieving space-saving and improved work efficiency!

In the semiconductor manufacturing process, there was a disconnection at the power supply points rated at 150-200A in the limited space within the equipment. Conventional connectors were long in length, making the attachment and detachment difficult and cumbersome. To prevent connection failures, a special connector was introduced that uses springs to maintain a constant contact pressure at the connection points. Previously, the production line frequently stopped, but after the introduction of this connector, there have been no issues with power supply failures. [Case Study] ■ Challenges - Large current connectors were causing space constraints. ■ After Implementation - Achieved approximately 30% space savings, allowing for smooth operation even for female and elderly workers with the one-touch design. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

[Use Case] Increased Productivity through Diversification and Automation

Introducing a case where productivity improved through the multiplexing and automation of connectors for electricity, coaxial, and optical fibers!

In the vehicle-mounted radio inspection line, there are connectors for electricity, coaxial, and optical fiber. However, there were no composite connectors combining electricity, coaxial, and optical fiber from domestic manufacturers, so connections were made manually and separately. Therefore, we introduced our composite connector that can integrate electricity, coaxial, and optical fiber. Additionally, by installing a rail and allowing for sliding, we enabled automatic attachment and detachment of all components together, eliminating the need to assign workers to this process and improving productivity. We plan to similarly introduce composite connectors in the inspection lines for car navigation systems and batteries, automating those processes as well. [Case Study] ■Challenge - We want to conduct high-quality inspections efficiently. ■After Implementation - The need to assign workers has been eliminated, resulting in increased productivity. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

[Use Case] High Durability Connector with Automatic Attachment and Detachment

Introduction of a case where connectors and couplings on the welding line can be automatically attached and detached together!

The welding transfer device and jig were each connected with electrical connectors and air couplings. Previously, electricity and air were manually connected and disconnected separately, but by combining air and electricity, it became possible to do it in one process. Additionally, by sliding the connector on the rail, it became possible to automatically connect and disconnect. The contacts use a special spring connector that maintains a constant contact pressure, resulting in a longer lifespan and reduced frequency of replacement compared to the connectors previously used. [Case Study] ■Challenges - Wanted to consolidate the connectors and couplings on the welding line. ■After Implementation - Adopted a high-durability connector that allows for automatic connection and disconnection, reducing running costs. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

[Use Case] A special connector that uses a spring to maintain constant contact pressure at the connection point.

We will introduce a case where a special connector with spring contacts eliminated power supply issues and improved productivity through automatic connection and disconnection!

The press line experiences significant vibrations, which sometimes causes poor electrical contact at the connector between the moving bolster and the press machine, leading to line stoppages. To prevent connection failures, a special connector was introduced that uses springs to maintain a constant contact pressure at the connection point. Previously, the line frequently stopped, but after the introduction of this connector, there have been no instances of poor electrical contact. Additionally, workers originally connected the connectors manually, but by enabling automatic connection and disconnection, the burden on employees was reduced, leading to increased productivity. [Case Study] ■ Issues - Poor electrical contact at the connector of the moving bolster on the press line ■ After Implementation - No instances of poor electrical contact - Reduced burden on employees and increased productivity *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

[Use Case] High Current Connector

We will introduce a case where productivity has improved with the introduction of high-current connectors that do not cause poor electrical contact!

Regarding the connectorization of the power supply points, after trying various connectors, we faced issues with poor conductivity due to welding in harsh usage environments (temperatures above 80°C and humidity of 70-80%) while conducting large currents (700-1000A) with standard connectors. By adopting high-current connectors, we completely eliminated the occurrence of conductivity issues during high-current conduction in harsh usage environments. Additionally, the special spring contacts of the high-current connectors allowed us to significantly reduce size and weight compared to conventional connectors, which has contributed to reducing the burden on workers in the field, such as alleviating back pain, and minimizing operational errors like incorrect connections. It has become an indispensable item during equipment updates. [Case Study] ■ Issues - Poor conductivity due to welding occurs with standard connectors. ■ After Implementation - No occurrences of conductivity issues during high-current conduction in harsh usage environments. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

[Usage Example] One-Touch Connector

A case where the automation of connector attachment and detachment in the vehicle-mounted motor inspection process reduced the takt time by 90%!

At the inspection site of a vehicle motor manufacturer located in the Kanto region, round metal connectors from a domestic manufacturer are used in the motor inspection process. The method for attaching and detaching these metal connectors is a screw-in type, and the connectors were manually fitted in three places on a single jig. Additionally, to prevent the terminals from bending during diagonal insertion, the work had to be done carefully and took a considerable amount of time. Therefore, the introduction of Salton's "one-touch connector" was implemented. As a result, the tasks that were originally performed by multiple workers were completely automated, reducing the takt time by about 90%. With the reduced need for manpower in the inspection process, labor and time could now be redirected to other work processes. [Case Study] ■ Challenges - Manual work could no longer keep up with the electrification of vehicles. ■ Effects - 90% reduction in takt time. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

[Case Study] Significant Improvement in Work Efficiency with the Adoption of One-Touch Waterproof Connectors

The connector that was broken in 3 months has been changed to a one-touch type! A case that has been operating for over 5 years without maintenance.

The conventional connector attached to the lifter crane at the steel mill had a screw-type attachment method. When connecting and disconnecting the connector outdoors at the port, it was sometimes necessary to screw the plug and socket together without inserting them straight, which could damage the threads of the connector body. Therefore, we adopted the "One-Touch Coupling Waterproof Connector." The attachment method has been simplified to a one-touch system, eliminating concerns about thread wear, and the size of the connector itself has become even more compact, significantly improving work efficiency on site. [Issues] - There were instances of damaging the threads of the connector body. - When placing the cable on the ground, impacts would deform the connector body. - Poor fitting occurred at a rate of once every three to six months when connecting the next cable. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.
