Design Wind #6 "A Talk About Design and Color"
Whenever things don't go as planned, feel free to reach out! Here’s a column featured in our company newsletter.
When showing design proposals and color proofs to clients, there are times when they request to make the colors "brighter." When studying color, one learns the three basic attributes of color: "hue," "saturation," and "brightness." As can be inferred from the terms, understanding "to make it brighter" correctly means to increase brightness. For the general public, "brighter" often means "more vivid," and it is frequently necessary to increase saturation rather than brightness. Additionally, "darker" is also something to be cautious about. There was a real case where a proposal for a wine-red cover was said to be "darker," and it was changed to a chocolate color, but what was actually desired was shocking pink. *For more details, please feel free to contact us.*
