Using FT-NIR spectroscopy, various quality parameters associated with the degradation of frying oil can be evaluated quickly and at low cost. Bruker has collected over 300 samples of fats used in fried potatoes, potato chips, fish, chicken, and donuts in collaboration with multiple food regulatory agencies. Statistical evaluations have shown that the measured FT-NIR spectra have a high correlation with existing official methods. This product is a high-sensitivity type of simple water quality analyzer that colors trace components in the test water, collects and concentrates them on a chip, and measures them colorimetrically. If the coloration of the test water inhaled into the pack test tube is faint and unclear, subsequent concentration operations allow for measurements at concentrations 25 times lower than conventional methods. The development of a small chip loaded with a membrane that serves as a collection medium enables simple and rapid concentration operations.
