[IoT Related] Nantan City, Kyoto Prefecture - Agricultural Mountain Village Promotion Division has implemented a new wildlife capture monitoring sensor.
Nantan City, located in the central part of Kyoto Prefecture, is a municipality with an area of 616.40 square kilometers (13.4 percent of Kyoto Prefecture) that borders Fukui Prefecture and Shiga Prefecture to the north, Hyogo Prefecture and Osaka Prefecture to the south, Ayabe City and Kyotanba Town to the west, and Kyoto City and Kameoka City to the east. To minimize damage to agricultural and forestry crops caused by wild birds and animals, Nantan City conducts harmful wildlife control throughout the year through the Nantan City Hunting Association's capture team. This time, with the cooperation of the Miyama Branch, we have installed a new wildlife capture monitoring sensor for demonstration purposes on a drum-type capture device for bears. This year, there have been more bear sightings than usual, and we have heard that Nantan City is urging residents to be cautious. It is said that bear activity will become more active as we approach late December when they enter hibernation. By utilizing the new wildlife capture monitoring sensor, we hope to enable efficient capture operations by sending simultaneous notifications to multiple individuals at the time of capture, and above all, to contribute to the safety and security of those involved in the capture. We are determined to make further efforts to assist Nantan City in its wildlife measures, taking this opportunity as a catalyst.

We will exhibit at the 2022 Wildlife Damage Prevention and Game Utilization Exhibition.
The "Wildlife Damage Control and Game Utilization Exhibition 2022" will be held from October 26 (Wednesday) to 28 (Friday) at the West Exhibition Hall of Tokyo Big Sight. There are significant issues such as damage to agricultural products caused by wild animals, a decrease in the number of people involved in animal capture, and an aging population. This exhibition brings together information related to measures against wildlife damage to crops, capture techniques, and the utilization of game after capture, including capture technologies using ICT and drones, intrusion prevention fences, and cameras. Our company will showcase products such as the "Camera-equipped IoT Pest Monitoring and Notification Sensor & AI-equipped Dashboard System" and "IoT Pest Capture Monitoring and Notification Sensor." We intend to listen to the opinions of those involved with wildlife and continue to improve our products in the future. We exhibited at the 6th Japan IT Week Kansai IoT & 5G Solutions Expo.
We exhibited at the 6th Japan IT Week Kansai IoT & 5G Solutions Exhibition held at Intex Osaka from January 19 (Wednesday) to January 21 (Friday), 2022. Under the theme "Solving Regional Issues with IoT Solutions," we conducted demonstrations and displays of IoT solutions for monitoring water levels in reservoirs and rivers, monitoring drinking water reservoir levels, rainfall observation, and measures against pests. This time, in addition to numerical data, we showcased a solution that uploads still image data to the cloud, where AI analyzes the still images automatically. Many visitors came to our booth, and we sincerely thank you for that. On the 20th (Thursday), our president, Kubo, gave a lecture at a "Public Seminar by the President," which was attended by many people. We would like to express our gratitude once again. Based on the valuable feedback, comments, and advice we received from all the visitors, we are committed to further refining not only our products but also our entire service to contribute to solving regional issues. We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all the visitors, the organizers, and everyone involved.

We have started a demonstration experiment in Miyoshi City, Tokushima Prefecture, related to IoT.
On October 1, 2019, we began the operation of a demonstration experiment aimed at observing river water levels and rainfall using IoT, which was concluded with the city of Miyoshi. River level sensors have been installed in the Shin Kakutani River, a tributary of the Shirokawa Valley and Butsukitani River flowing through Yamashiro Town, as well as in the Onishi River and Hiura River. Additionally, a rain gauge has been installed on the rooftop of the former Norouchi Elementary School in Ikeda Town. Both areas have experienced incidents that threaten the safety of local residents due to concentrated heavy rainfall in recent years. We hope that the data uploaded to the cloud will serve as a means of disaster prevention and mitigation, such as sending alert notifications to city staff when dangerous data is detected. Furthermore, we sincerely hope that by accumulating data, it can be used as a means to predict and forecast future incidents, thereby avoiding situations such as road flooding due to rising water levels, which could hinder evacuation efforts. We will continue to engage in discussions with relevant parties in the city of Miyoshi and strive to contribute to local disaster prevention and mitigation efforts.
