Introducing the Differences from Tobi (Roofer) Craftsmen!> The craftsmen known as "Tobi" are active at construction sites. The history of Tobi craftsmen is very old, and it is said that they already existed when Horyu-ji, the oldest wooden building in Japan, was constructed. Back then, to build tall structures, scaffolding was assembled, and various craftsmen worked on top of it. However, today, even among Tobi craftsmen, there are several classifications based on their job responsibilities. In this article, we will explain the types of Tobi work and the craftsmen often referred to as "scaffolders," who work alongside Tobi craftsmen, aimed at those aspiring to become Tobi craftsmen. 【New】Scaffolding Column | What is Asagao? Introduction to Assembly Methods, Installation Standards, and Installation Costs
"Scaffolding Column" from a long-established temporary equipment manufacturer with over 70 years of history At Chuo Built Industry, we provide accurate knowledge and information about scaffolding to contribute to safety and efficiency at construction sites. Please use this for knowledge review, self-improvement, and in-house training. <What is a "Scaffolding" Asagao? Introduction to Assembly Methods, Installation Standards, and Installation Costs> To safely perform work at heights, fall prevention measures for workers are crucial. But what about safety measures for those not working at heights? If tools or materials used in high-altitude work fall, the energy upon hitting the ground can be significant. If a falling object strikes a person, it can lead to a serious accident, which is why it is mandatory to install a board called a "toe board" at the edges of the working platform in scaffolding. However, relying solely on toe boards to prevent falling object accidents is likely insufficient. Measures against potential falling objects are necessary. This time, we will explain how to prevent accidents caused by falling objects from temporary scaffolding. For more details, please see below.

Scaffolding materials tend to fall into price competition. Wouldn't it be great if you could differentiate yourself from other companies with "lightness"?
"Step Guard," a stair opening handrail used to prevent falls from stair openings. The "Aluminum Step Guard" is a stair opening handrail that weighs 6.2 kg, approximately 60% lighter than conventional steel products. With its simple design and lightweight construction, the burden of installation and removal work is dramatically improved! It also contributes to addressing the aging workforce issues in scaffolding work! Additionally, the arm can be opened and closed at a 90-degree angle, eliminating the previously existing triangular opening and significantly enhancing safety. Differentiating with high-value-added products serves as a countermeasure against futile price competition with other companies! *Related products and catalogs provide more detailed information.

In construction work, it is essential to secure scaffolding, which serves as the working platform. To prevent labor accidents caused by falls from scaffolding, workers must have knowledge about scaffolding, work methods, and labor accident prevention. Due to the background of frequent labor accidents, part of the Labor Safety and Health Regulations was revised in 2015, adding "Special Education for Scaffolding Assembly." Therefore, this time we will provide a detailed introduction to "Special Education for Scaffolding Assembly." We will also check the course content, the process for obtaining qualifications, and the differences from the "Scaffolding Assembly Work Supervisor Skills Training." Added temporary protective fence "QT Fence" in accordance with the rockfall prevention guidelines.
We have newly added the temporary protective fence "QT Fence," which can be used for emergency measures and temporary measures after disasters, to our product lineup and have begun sales. The QT Fence is a temporary protective fence that can withstand rockfall energy of up to 10 kJ and can be installed manually. It can be set up in a short period, making it ideal for emergency measures after disasters. The experiments are conducted in accordance with the "Performance Verification Method by Experiment" outlined in the "Rockfall Mitigation Handbook (December 2017 Revised Edition / Public Interest Incorporated Association Japan Road Association)," ensuring that products used from the temporary measures stage until the installation of permanent measures have verified performance, thereby contributing to improved safety on site. Its simple structure and lightweight components allow for easy installation and removal. The posts are designed to connect with a single pipe and post frame, enabling assembly in about 30 minutes per unit, which enhances workability. Additionally, the components can be stored compactly, making them suitable for stockpiling as emergency supplies after disasters. If there is no storage space available, we can quickly deliver items stored at our factory. By adding the temporary protective fence to our lineup, we will flexibly respond to various needs on site.
