The craftsmen known as "Tobi" are active at construction sites. The history of Tobi craftsmen is very old, and it is said that they already existed when Horyu-ji, the oldest wooden building in Japan, was constructed.
Back then, to build tall structures, scaffolding was assembled, and various craftsmen worked on top of it. However, today, even among Tobi craftsmen, there are several classifications based on their job responsibilities.
