Ground reinforcement work | Zero leftover soil and construction in narrow spaces achieved with the no-discharge Σ-i method technology.
Ground reinforcement work
Eco-friendly construction that generates no construction waste! The Σ-i method addresses the challenges of working in narrow spaces with compatible compact machinery, achieving overall cost reduction for the project.
In ensuring the safety of buildings, it is extremely important to scientifically evaluate the bearing capacity of the foundation ground and implement appropriate reinforcement. Constructing buildings on insufficiently strong ground can lead to tilting and cracking of structures due to differential settlement, which can have a serious negative impact on the durability of homes. The "Σ-i Method" (Sigma-i Method) provided by Geotech Co., Ltd. is an environmentally friendly pile foundation reinforcement technology that eliminates such ground risks. The integrated spiral wings and the excavation blade at the tip of the steel pipe exhibit strong self-advancing power, allowing for rotary insertion and placement without the use of chemical agents like cement milk. As a result, no construction-generated soil (excess soil) is produced, dramatically reducing disposal costs and transportation processing costs. Furthermore, the high penetration performance enables the use of compact construction machinery, facilitating smooth construction even in narrow road widths or densely populated residential areas with limited gaps between neighboring properties. A strict internal management system and real-time measurement of construction data ensure the objectivity and high quality of the work.

basic information
The Σ-i construction method is a reliable technical specification that has obtained the architectural technical performance certification from the General Incorporated Foundation Japan Building Disaster Prevention Association (GBRC Performance Certification No. 10-13 Revised 2). The outer diameter sizes of the steel pipe body range from φ89.1 mm to φ165.2 mm, and a variety of specifications for the tip spiral wing diameter are available from φ270 mm to φ400 mm. The maximum construction depth can accommodate up to 130 times the diameter of the main axis from the construction ground surface. Applicable ground types include sandy soil (including gravelly soil) and clayey soil. Based on the equivalent N values obtained from SWS tests and dynamic cone penetration tests, a reliable allowable bearing capacity can be calculated.

Applications/Examples of results
This construction method is widely used for ground reinforcement in new construction and renovation projects of single-family homes (up to 3 stories, 13 meters in height, and a total floor area of 1,500 square meters or less). It is also extremely effective for constructing retaining walls up to 3.5 meters high and reinforcing the foundations of various civil engineering structures. Due to its characteristics of low noise and low vibration construction using the rotary penetration method, as well as the absence of construction waste, it is widely utilized in densely populated residential areas, narrow urban residential sites, and various construction projects that aim to reduce industrial waste disposal costs.
