The data center floor slab construction method is a comprehensive proposal that considers the required flatness, durability, dust resistance, and static electricity countermeasures for the ground concrete floor of a new data center. In floors involving server racks, AI/GPU equipment, autonomous robots, and equipment delivery vehicles, even slight unevenness, surface deterioration, or dust generation can affect operational quality. Our company ensures high reproducibility of floor quality through leveling with specialized machinery, re-vibration compaction, and finishing management using ride-on trowels. Furthermore, we can handle everything from curing, laitance removal polishing, application of surface hardeners, anti-static floor coatings, to pre-delivery cleaning all in-house. When multiple contractors are involved, the scope of responsibility and finishing standards can easily become ambiguous. However, since we can manage everything from ground construction, polishing, floor coating and surface hardener application, cutting, to pre-delivery cleaning, we can comprehensively manage the quality of the floor slab. After construction, we measure the floor level with specialized measuring instruments, and flatness can be confirmed using heat maps and cross-sectional graphs. 1. Leveling of the floor using a laser screed Using a dedicated machine, the laser screed, we level fresh concrete and adjust the level accuracy of the wide floor surface based on laser standards. In data centers, it is important to create a leveled floor surface from the initial stages, as it serves as the foundation for server racks and free access flooring.

2. Re-vibration compaction using EV revive tamper Re-vibration compaction removes air bubbles within the concrete and eliminates water channels that can cause cracking, creating a dense state. This is positioned as a crucial process for improving long-term durability.

3. Unevenness correction using a riding trowel The riding trowel is used to correct fine unevenness on the floor surface through disc application, creating a uniform finish without irregularities. This unevenness correction results in a flat and smooth floor surface, significantly reducing the tilt of server racks and the wobbling of forklifts and AGVs.

4. Curing After finishing with the metal trowel, immediate watering and sheet laying will be carried out to manage the timing of curing. This helps to suppress rapid drying and control initial cracking, leading to stable floor quality.

5. Removal of laitance through grinding Before applying the reinforcement material, we will remove laitance, which causes dust, to the utmost extent, and perform resin grinding to suppress the root cause of dust generation, which is a major enemy in data centers. Particularly in the case of concrete substrates, the removal of laitance has a significant impact on dust generation, making grinding formation necessary.

The surface hardener for data centers significantly affects dust generation, so by preparing the permeation environment and applying it during construction, dust can be greatly suppressed. Our recommendation is to use lithium-based surface hardeners for the application. Additionally, for flooring, we recommend high-performance epoxy resin flooring materials, which will be applied with anti-static properties.

Option 1 / Cutter Work (Joint Cutting and Joint Injection) For cutter work performed as needed on the data center floor, we recommend the soft cut method to be carried out the day after the concrete finishing. This helps suppress early cracking that occurs shortly after finishing and allows for preemptive crack control, preventing unnecessary cracks from developing. Additionally, we also provide joint injection work as needed. We will make proposals considering the operational conditions of the floor and the loads to be placed on it, keeping in mind the subsequent processes. For joint injection work, we will select and use a polyurethane-based material with good followability. However, if a joint injection material has already been selected in advance, it is also possible to carry out the work using that material.

Option 2 / Cleaning (Pre-delivery cleaning using specialized equipment) Before delivery, we remove dirt and fine dust from the floor surface to prepare the area for equipment installation. Our services do not end with the completion of the work; we can also assist in creating a suitable floor environment before the operation of the data center.

Post-construction level measurement The floor accuracy after construction is inspected for flatness using a floor profiler, not just by appearance, and evaluated by the customer. The collected data can be output as heat maps or cross-sectional graphs. This allows for a comprehensive understanding of where the floor is high and where it is low, making it easy to use as shared documentation of the construction results, and facilitating a common understanding of floor accuracy among the client, designer, and construction personnel.
