At Alive Vision Software, we are conducting **"language porting (replacement) of PC software"** for old industrial machinery and machine tools that may become inoperable due to the end of support for operating systems and development environments. In this project, we fully migrated an in-house program written in "Fujitsu F-BASIC," which lost support on Windows 2000, to a C# environment for an automatic bending machine aimed at the stamping industry. Although there were no specifications or design documents available, we carried out the language migration by reverse engineering the old source code itself. We successfully achieved the language migration of the PC software without modifying the existing system, such as the control PIC microcontroller for the device (2-axis stepping motor control). This was a challenging program migration that two other companies had attempted in the past but failed. However, thanks to our solid deciphering skills, we succeeded in the replacement and modernized the system with additional features.
