MARGE SHELF is a shelf designed by the renowned contemporary designer, Mr. Ashizawa, who is active in various fields including architecture, spatial design, and furniture design. By bending steel plates, it achieves strength, design, and functionality for the shelves, while realizing a minimal structure supported by sturdy solid oak that has been thinned to its limits. The innovative idea of offering the shelf boards in three colors allows for a change in expression based on the user's preferred color arrangement, making it a concept of a shelf that has never existed before, where users can choose based on the placement. When thin steel is laid horizontally, it tends to bend, but by folding the front and back of the shelf, strength is added; the front side is bent downward while the back side is bent upward. The back side serves as a backing board, providing a sense of security that items will not fall behind the shelf, creating an impression that the items placed casually on the shelf are being cherished.
