Nagoya Expressway Exclusive Expansion Device "Hybrid Joint NCS-40"
Hybrid Joint NCS-40
Compliant with the standards for urban expressways. Nagoya Expressway exclusive specifications for bridge expansion devices "Hybrid Joint NCS-40."
This product is a specially designed expansion joint developed to meet the conditions of the Nagoya Expressway. Urban expressways, such as the Metropolitan Expressway and Hanshin Expressway, have different design conditions and quality standards for each highway. Therefore, Crittec Industries consistently responds to the development, manufacturing, and construction of expansion joints in accordance with each standard. In urban expressways, lightweight and slim designs are often adopted, leading to the use of steel deck bridges. In typical bridges, there is a thick concrete deck beneath the pavement, while in steel deck bridges, the area directly beneath the pavement consists of steel materials. On the other hand, steel deck bridges exhibit significant expansion and contraction behavior due to temperature changes and traffic, necessitating high followability and durability at the joint sections. Additionally, when installing joints, it is essential to meet complex performance criteria, such as "a shape that fits within the pavement," "high resistance to strain and vibration," and "a structure that can be securely fixed to the steel deck." The "Hybrid Joint NCS-40" has passed the fatigue load test (durability of over 15 years) set by the Nagoya Expressway Public Corporation, and the improvements made to various technologies have led to its adoption. Currently, this product is in the process of being registered as a "new technology" certified by the same corporation. *Please feel free to contact us for inquiries.

Company information
CRETEC, a company under Crittec Industries, was born from the combination of Create (creation) and Technology. As a comprehensive manufacturer of bridge expansion devices, we continue to develop expansion devices that contribute to the longevity of bridges and environmental protection. Moreover, we do not stop at product manufacturing; by consistently handling everything from research, design, manufacturing, sales, to construction in-house, we can manufacture and install expansion devices that meet the requests of our clients and general contractors, as well as the conditions and environments of the bridges and roads on-site. We also take into account the issues that arise during the installation of expansion devices and the damage conditions of existing devices that are removed, using this information to improve and develop our products. Please feel free to contact us for inquiries about bridge expansion devices, requests for materials, or estimates. ◆ What is a bridge expansion device? It is a component installed in the gap between the bridge abutment and the bridge girder, or between bridge girders. When designing a bridge, it is necessary to create a gap to prevent the bridge girders from colliding due to expansion and contraction caused by temperature changes. The bridge expansion device is required to cover this gap and ensure safe passage for vehicles and pedestrians.
