The latest collection of kozo (paper mulberry) washi wallpaper has arrived.
The KOZO collection started in 1988 with the desire to introduce Japan's proud washi paper as wallpaper to people, and to pass down the culture, tradition, and beauty of Japanese washi to future generations. Among wallpapers, using kozo (paper mulberry), which can be harvested in winter before the leaves fall, is environmentally friendly. Furthermore, washi wallpaper, which becomes more beautiful with age, is an important option in today's world where the necessity for sustainable circular societies is being questioned globally. The sixth installment, "KOZO 6," aims to discover and communicate the new charm of washi, returning to the origins to pursue the potential of the material itself. It begins by re-evaluating the latent capabilities of washi and techniques that have often been avoided, leading to an exquisite original collection that we want to share with the world. "Kūpū" (Fragrant Breeze) This piece was hand-crafted to capture the appearance of drifting clouds in the sky seen in early summer, utilizing the natural undulations of washi. It expresses the gentle and pleasant breeze scented with fresh leaves through bright and light colors.
