The latest collection of kozo (paper mulberry) washi wallpaper has arrived.
The KOZO collection started in 1988 with the desire to introduce Japan's proud washi (Japanese paper) as wallpaper to people, and to pass on the culture, traditions, and beauty of Japanese washi to future generations. Among wallpapers, using kozo (paper mulberry), which can be harvested in winter before the leaves fall, is environmentally friendly. Furthermore, washi wallpaper, which becomes more beautiful with age, is one of the very important options in today's world where the necessity for a sustainable circular society is being questioned globally. The sixth installment, "KOZO 6," aims to discover and communicate the new charm of washi. To pursue the potential of the material itself, we return to our roots and start by re-evaluating the latent capabilities of washi and techniques that have been somewhat avoided until now. This has led us to create an exquisite original collection that we want to share with the world. "Asagiri" (Morning Mist) In the village of Inshu washi, surrounded by mountains, the fantastical morning mist that changes its expression with the rising sun is often seen. The gradation created by two artisans moving their brushes simultaneously creates a pleasant space adorned with beautifully clear air.
