basic information
"Why is a 'water conduit' necessary?" The physical lifespan of infrastructure such as bridges, roads, tunnels, water supply and sewage systems, and public facilities is generally said to be around 50 years. During the period of rapid economic growth from the 1960s to the 1970s, public investment advanced, and about half of the current public facilities were built during this time. In other words, there are many infrastructures that have exceeded their 50-year lifespan, and by 2026, the number of aging tunnels will account for 44% of approximately 10,000 in total, worsening the situation. To address these issues, tunnel maintenance projects aimed at countermeasures for the aging of existing tunnels and safety measures for road traffic are being emphasized, and as these projects increase, the need for water conduits arises. *NETIS registration achievements available (up to R3.10)*
