【Lecture Overview】 This presentation introduces the efforts of the Kyushu Electric Power Group in a new business initiative focused on the sustainable and high-value-added land-based aquaculture business utilizing the sites of decommissioned power plants. By employing IoT for continuous monitoring and control of water quality and implementing a recirculating aquaculture system (RAS) using biological filtration technology, we have established a production system for "Bujin Mirai Salmon" that enables stable supply throughout the year. The lecture will detail the background of the business launch, technical differentiation factors, quality evaluation through taste analysis, and competitiveness as a product. We will present a concrete solution to the structural challenges facing the fisheries industry through land-based aquaculture.
