A case study of addressing work improvement by understanding the content of overtime work in the face of the impending "2024 issue in the construction industry."
We will introduce a case study from Daiichi Trading Co., Ltd., where they utilized the work time measurement tool "Jobtan" to understand the actual content of employees' overtime work and worked on business improvement. At the company, in order to implement system changes that would alter the current way of working, it was necessary to break down and understand the content of the work being performed by employees. After the implementation, the measurement period was divided, and measurements were conducted by department, including "Construction Management," "Construction Administration," "Estimation and Inspection," "Factory," and "General Affairs." It became clear in numerical terms what kind of work was being done and for how long in terms of overtime hours in each department.
