This shape allows for a reduction in slab weight and an improvement in seismic resistance due to the robust T-shaped cross-section ribs, enabling the construction of large-span structural frameworks with minimal columns and beams. The Sky Dome was adopted for the construction of the 4,500 square meter bidirectional lightweight slab of the multipurpose building "Le Nuage," designed by Philippe Starck in Montpellier, France.
