Keep the main systems of the infrared telescope at a temperature 600°F lower than the side facing the Earth, Moon, and Sun!
Bohemia, New York (December 2021) DDC - NASA, the European Space Agency (ESA), and the Canadian Space Agency (CSA) announced the successful launch of the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) on December 25. The JWST is one of the largest space telescopes in the world, allowing astronomers to study the origins of the solar system and distant galaxies, far surpassing the capabilities of the Hubble Space Telescope. While the Hubble Space Telescope operates in low Earth orbit (540 km), the JWST's infrared telescope is designed to move far away to the Lagrange point (L2) between the Earth and the Sun, located 1.5 million km (940,000 miles) from Earth. The project incorporates radiation-hardened components from DDC/PDC, including Rad-Hard, SBC, and 1553 products. *For more detailed information, please refer to the related links.
